Meet our Founder

Karen Larkin Jaser

After my first daughter was born, I hired a cleaner from a local ad. She did good work — when she showed up. But if it was a school holiday or field trip, one of her children was sick, or if anything else came up at home, my cleaning was canceled. Sometimes her kids came with her and sat on my couch while she worked. If I ran out of supplies, parts of the cleaning were skipped. After a few months, her husband was promoted, and she stopped cleaning altogether.

So I went back to cleaning my own house, when I could get to it.

After my second daughter was born, I tried a large cleaning service. The price was higher, so I expected consistency and professionalism. Instead, the quality varied. Corners and baseboards were missed. Items on tables were dusted around, not moved. I rarely saw the same faces twice. Communication was difficult. If I asked for something small — like wiping cabinet fronts that had been overlooked — I was told to call the office and "add it for next time." I once asked the team how many homes they had scheduled that day — six! I wondered if house #6 got the same attention as house #1.

It felt rushed. Impersonal. Inconsistent.

So I went back to cleaning my own house, when I could get to it.

I knew I wasn't the only one juggling work, children, dinner, laundry – at that point, my parents' health – and everything else. Families didn't just need a cleaning — they needed dependable help they could count on, to just hand the housework over to.

So in 2005, I started Belle Home Housecleaning.

We built the kind of company I had been looking for: consistent, competent, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. We hire kind people who enjoy cleaning and take pride in everything they do. We use eco-friendly products, we answer customers promptly and we show up when we say we're going to.

We're still woman-owned and operated, still based in Milford, and still focused on providing reliable, professional help that makes your life better.
